International lawyers are increasingly in demand in protecting human rights, promoting a healthy environment, guaranteeing respect for humanitarian law and advising on compliance with international regulations. To meet this growing need, Garden Court Chambers has formed a specialist International Advice and Litigation Team: Garden Court International.

Garden Court has a long tradition of dedication to human rights internationally as well as at home. As the largest set of barristers in London, our members work individually and collectively to provide the widest range of expert advice and representation to international and regional organisations, governments, non-governmental organisations, lay and professional clients and commercial enterprises.

We are consulted by United Nations agencies in aspects of family law and child protection. We advise international groups on the nationality law, health, social welfare and rights of migrants, including Roma and other minorities. We conduct litigation in international humanitarian law before criminal tribunals established by the UN and we provide litigation and consultancy services in international environmental law and the enforcement of human rights under international and European conventions.

We have specialists in advising parties in post-conflict peace and reconciliation issues, training judges and lawyers in human rights and conducting international mediation and arbitration. Many of us have worked on death penalty cases in the United States, before the Privy Council and in other jurisdictions. We also specialise in contractual and regulatory compliance issues affecting commercial clients.
