Practice Management and Clerking

Garden Court Chambers benefits from highly skilled practice managers, known as clerks. Our clerks are responsible for all aspects of running the practice, from recommending suitable counsel for a particular piece of work through to booking cases, discussing fees and undertaking billing. In the first instance your enquiry will usually be handled by a member of the clerking team who will be able to discuss your requirements in detail.

In total we have 15 clerks, managed by our Senior Clerk and four Heads of Team.

Colin Cook Senior Clerk to Chambers Colin holds the role of Senior Clerk to Chambers, equivalent to that of Chief Executive in a solicitors practice. Colin has overall responsibility for managing all aspects of the practice at Garden Court, including ensuring that our quality standards are second to none. Colin regularly travels internationally to meet clients and potential clients, and is able to discuss how our barristers can assist them with legal problems, or with longer-term advice, consultancy or training arrangements.
